Dr Maria Norpo, dermatologist
Aesthetic and Surgical Dermatology Practice
Dr Maria Norpo studied medicine at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. She qualified as a specialist in dermatology and venereology at the Department of Dermatology and Phlebology of Klinikum Stuttgart, a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Tübingen, with a subspecialty in dermatologic surgery. During her six years of hospital practice, she performed more than 1,000 dermatological procedures per year.
With a long-standing passion for aesthetic dermatology and lasers, she gained valuable experience as an assistant in several cosmetic surgery clinics during her studies. Since 2012, she has regularly attended international training courses and conferences in aesthetic medicine and lasers.
After several years of practice in France, Dr Norpo opened her own practice on the Basque Coast in 2025, where she focuses on aesthetic and surgical dermatology.

The medical-technical assistant in dermatology plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of dermatology services. She assists the dermatologist in patient care, ensuring that treatments are both effective and safe.
She actively participates in consultations, medical procedures, aesthetic treatments, and minor surgical interventions. She prepares the necessary instruments and equipment while ensuring proper sterilization, thus creating a safe and optimal environment for each procedure.
Additionally, she maintains up-to-date patient medical records, noting medical histories, treatments, and examination results. She also plays a vital role in patient education, helping them understand skin care, available treatments, and preventive measures.
Following treatments, she ensures proper follow-up care by monitoring patient progress and scheduling necessary follow-up appointments. Well-trained and experienced, she can also perform certain aesthetic procedures under the supervision of a doctor.
As a core member of the care team, the medical-technical assistant significantly contributes to the quality of service provided and patient satisfaction.
