Pigmented spots, melasma
and uneven skin tone
Solar lentigines, brown spots, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone have different causes. Sun, hormones, inflammation and skin ageing may be involved; the diagnosis determines the treatment.
AVAILABLE SOLUTIONS
The HandPico picosecond laser is offered for certain pigmented lesions. IPL can improve diffuse spots and skin radiance. Depending on the situation, PRX-T33, superficial peels, polynucleotides or PRP can complement the work on skin quality. For melasma, a gradual and cautious strategy is preferred, in which low-energy picosecond laser can play a role.
A TAILORED APPROACH
Before any treatment of a pigmented lesion, a dermatological examination is essential to rule out a suspicious or potentially malignant lesion and to choose the safest indication. Whatever the protocol, rigorous daily sun protection is essential to limit recurrence and preserve the result.
